Session 3
Another camp in the books. This group was full of energy. They were a crack up and kept me on my toes. Thanks to Steve Taylor for helping spread his skim knowledge to these guys. The team challenges were memorable and the kids were awarded with gear from Etnies, EOS, and On a Mission. Needless to say they were stoked.
Yoga Flame
Solag is fortunate enough to collaborate with Yoga Works of Laguna Beach during its camps. At each camp, a certified yoga instructor comes to camp to offer all the campers with a well needed stretch. It's great to have this opportunity especially because Cathy Cox, the yoga instructor, is a knowledgeable, experienced yoga instructor who helps stretch out common tight areas for skimboarders such as the hip fexors. Many skimboarders endure tight hip flexor issues and having Cathy expose all the campers to some yoga stretches makes everyone feel fresh and rejuvenated.
Yoga Works is offering a great workshop entitled Yoga for Surfers. The workshop is led by Peggy Hall who is an awesome person and yoga instructor. Her workshop will make you feel like a million bucks. Check it out if you can.

Cape Cod Camp Review
First hand account from a Cape Cod rider:
So I went to skim camp, hoping to get better at skimming. First thing Paulo teaches me is how to get on the board with one step from when you drop it to when you get on, and getting on with my backfoot first instead of front foot. I was like are you serious, there is no way I can just change how I get on my skimboard after 9 years of skimming. So my first reaction was yea right, but he kept saying just trust me once you learn it, it will be better. So I was like alright I'll give it a shot.Make a long story short, by the last day of camp I was pretty comfortable dropping with the one step-backfoot first. Now that learned it I have to say it really made a difference, and it has already made me a lot better. ]
Thanks again for everything man hope to see you next year. I got back foot 100% now I got my first barrel the other day, and I got it on a wave I would never have been able to get with my old drop. I almost have Richie doing backfoot he still doesn't quite have it but Derek has it stong. Skim camp was sick hope you decide to come back next year, thanks again
